Who are you guys anyways?
We are Eric and Nancy Olmsted. A 40-something couple, married for almost two years now. This is the third marriage for both of us. We live in Vancouver, Washington. Nancy grew up in Portland, Oregon, Eric grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. Between us we have four daughters (ages 13 to 27), one son-in-law, two dogs, a cat, a couple mortgages, a small business, 3 cars, two bikes, and a pair of never used rollerblades.
What is Sweeter all about?
Obviously, we are no experts on marriage, but we'd like to think we learned a thing or two about what helps make a marriage work or not work with our previous experiences. We are best friends...something we didn't have in our other marriages. We believe in the importance of not taking each other for granted, for respecting each other, in just hanging out with each other and laughing (a lot!) . We believe a big part of making a marriage work is to continue dating each other. We go on weekly (or almost weekly dates), always seeking something new and interesting. In our blog we'll share our dating experiences as a married couple and hope to inspire you to try "dating" your spouse in new and fun ways as well.
We'll also share thoughts on marriage (ours and others), family, friends, pets, photos, travel, rants and raves. We're both entering middle-age and we'll share the all the interesting things that journey brings with it!
