When I got married the first time as a fresh-faced 18-year old back in 1980, my sister Laura bought me a set of Revereware pots and pans. Those pots traveled with me from the Bay area, to New York, to LA, and back to Portland over the next 30 years. They were with me every step of the way while I learned to cook. Oh, how we laughed at my hamburger patties that burned so badly they could have been used for hockey pucks, and we shared a victory dance in the kitchn when I finally mastered my almost famous lemon, butter and dill salmon sauce. Yes, they've served me well. But, it's been 30 years now, and they're finally to starting to wear.
So, as I've been shopping for Brianna's shower gifts, I keep stumbling across these cookware sets from All-Clad. I've seen all my favorite tv chefs use these babies. How can you not fall in love with the shiny stainless steel and graceful handles...Oh, I almost swoon just thinking about them. Cheap they're not, but how can I resist? They'll be on my Christmas list, even if it's just one pan at time.
While lusting after the cookware sets on www.cookware.com, I ran across this cuter than cute bird lemon squeezer. Don't you just love him! So, while I wait for Santa to drop a boatload of All-Clad down my chimney, I've ordered this adorable chickadee to help me make my almost famous salmon sauce. I'm hoping he's more than just a pretty face, and will work as good as he looks.

I misread this blog - I thought it said "dreaming of an all-CHAD xmas"! and thought what in the world is she talking about! Got a good laugh at myself. My pans have also lasted almost forever, but I go through frying pans and bakeware a lot. I know you have to wash them by hand but don't always do it. I think mother of the brides need a shower too, just for using our pans to feed these kids throughout the years! Love ya and happy BD Karen
